This shield can also be used on Raspberry Pi 2/3 with 6 standard GPIO pins, 5V voltage and Ground connection. Note that it only shows textual output to the screen then (buttons not working).

Very bright screen with potentiometer to distuingish characters better.

Not tested yet on Arduino...
