It is absolutely one of the brightest lanterns I've ever seen, Its actually TOO bright on its highest setting for camping on close proximity to others ; we had to turn it down a few clicks because it was lighting up other people's tents from our area

small size fits well for packing, and the hook for upside down hanging is a practical and useful feature, The different modes of brightness are also helpful for times when the high setting isn't needed

Purchased as Christmas gift - excellent product - doesn't include batteries - bright light that lit room well, Lower dim setting would also work as a night light

The only thing I do not like to much is the opening and closing mechanism but on the other hand it protects the glass/plastic, so it is a compromise.
